Four-home run week earns Feight Player of Week Honors

From UNCW

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW junior Nick Feight was named Colonial Athletic Association Player-of-the-Week Monday after powering the Seahawks to a 3-2 record with wins over Maryland and William & Mary.

Feight belted four home runs on the week and took over the team lead with nine round trippers this season. He also moved into a tie for fifth all-time at UNCW with 31 career home runs.

For the week, Feight hit .381 with a double to go along with those four home runs. He scored nine runs and knocked in nine while extending his on-base streak to 16 games.

The Seahawks split a pair of games with Maryland, which was the preseason Big 10 favorite, and then won their series against defending CAA champion William & Mary. Feight homered in each game against the Tribe.

Feight becomes the second Seahawk to earn CAA weekly honors, joining senior outfielder Casey Golden, who was named Player-of-the-Week earlier this month.

UNCW plays four games on the road this weekend, beginning with a 6 p.m. start on Wednesday at defending National Champion Coastal Carolina. The Seahawks then return to conference play next weekend when they visit the College of Charleston for three games, starting on Friday.
