WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Part of Beasley Road is expected to close for about six months starting Wednesday, March 8.
The road will be closed to all traffic between Wilton Court and Chelon Avenue while crews work to replace the bridge with a modern concrete structure.
The span of the bridge will also increase from 15 feet to 50 feet to allow for improved drainage.
The construction project is part of a $4 million drainage improvement plan.
People who live on Wilton Court and in neighborhoods northwest toward Pine Grove Drive will enter and exit Beasley Road via Pine Grove Drive.
Those who live on Chelon Avenue and in neighborhoods east toward Masonboro Loop Road will enter and exit Beasley Road via Masonboro Loop Road.
