Wofford downs UNCW women 71-67

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore guard Chloe Wanink scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Wofford earned its third win in the last four games with a 71-67 victory over UNCW at Trask Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. 

The Terriers, who were playing their second game in a six-game road swing, improved to 6-4 on the season while the Seahawks dropped to 4-5 after suffering their fourth loss in the last five outings. 

Wanink, who recorded her second double-double of the season, was one of three Wofford players to score in double figures. She made 10-of-20 shots from the floor, including a 4-for-6 effort from three-point range. 

Senior guard Kentra Washington added 13 points with eight rebounds while sophomore forward Marissa Bayer came off the bench to add 10 points, shooting 4-for-6 from the field and making both of her free throw attempts. 

Freshman guard Moriah Crisp led four Seahawks in double figures by netting a season-high 14 points. She tallied all of her points in the fourth quarter by making all six of her field goal attempts in addition to two of four free throws. 

Junior guard Diamond Willis tallied a season-high 14 points with seven rebounds while redshirt senior guard Jasmine Steele and junior guard Madison Raque each contributed 10 points. 

How It Happened: Wofford outscored UNCW by an 11-6 margin over the final 3:43 of regulation after Crisp gave the Seahawks a 61-60 advantage. The Terriers also made three of five field goals during the spurt while sinking five of six free throws.
