Leon Brogden Holiday Basketball Tournament Committee Release 

The Leon Brogden Holiday Basketball Tournament Committee has announced the pairings for the 23rd annual event that will take place December 21-23 in Wilmington, NC. This year, the Girl’s Tournament will be held at Ashley High School and the Boy’s Tournament will be held at Brogden Hall.

The brackets are attached to this email.

Games on Wednesday and Thursday will be at 3:00, 4:30, 6:00, and 7:30 at each location. On Friday, the boys times will remain the same, but the girls will play at 11:00, 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30.

First round matchups are as follows:

Girl’s Tournament

3:00 Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC) vs. Laney

4:30 Conway (Conway, SC) vs. Hoggard

6:00 North Brunswick (Leland, NC) vs. New Hanover

7:30 Havelock (Havelock, NC) vs. Ashley

Boy’s Tournament 

3:00 South Central (Winterville, NC) vs. Hoggard

4:30 Pender (Burgaw, NC) vs. Ashley

6:00 Panther Creek (Cary, NC) vs. Laney

7:30 Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC) vs. New Hanover

Although there is a bracket, the Tournament Committee may adjust matchups on Thursday and Friday within the winner’s bracket or loser’s bracket to avoid NHCS matchups if possible.

Ticket Prices are as follows:

Tournament Pass: $25 Adult / $15 Student

Daily Pass: $10 Adult / $7 Student

Tickets will be good for both locations. They will be on sale at each venue on the days of the tournament and are also available online at www.brogdentournament.com.
