Charges Dropped Against Wilmington Marine

MAY 26, 2005 -- All charges have been dismissed against Second Lieutenant Ilario Pantano.

Major General Richard Huck ruled Thursday morning the Wilmington Marine will not be court-martialed. The general reviewed testimony in the Article 32 hearing and looked at the autopsies of the men Pantano was accused of murdering.

Pantano was accused of killing the Iraqi detainees without justification. He claimed it was in self-defense.
