Gas Prices Dip Below $2.00

MAY 24, 2005 -- As you drive around, you've no doubt noticed the high price of gas, but in some areas there's a welcome sight on the gas station sign.

In Burgaw, both the Go Gas and the Scotchman are selling gas for $1.99 a gallon. Gas for less than $2.00 is a rare sight these days. According to AAA Carolinas, the average price of gas right now in North Carolina is $2.08 a gallon.

With the Memorial Day weekend coming up, hundreds of thousands of people will be on the roads, and saving nine cents a gallon could go a long way.
