Maritime Day Brings Visitors to State Port

MAY 22, 2005 -- The North Carolina State Port opened its doors today for the annual "Maritime Day Festival."

Visitors had a chance to look at a variety of exhibits.

They were able to take tours of boats in addition to a tour of the port.

A wreath was placed in the Cape Fear River to remember those who died at sea.

Next year will be the 10th year of the event. Port officials say it will be a special event.
