WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Anti-Trump protests have erupted all over our nation following the election results, some turning violent. That was not the case on UNCW's campus Friday morning as students organized a peaceful protest on Chancellor's Walk.

"I figured this was a great place for the LGBTQ community, the Black Lives Matter community, the Muslim community, the Hispanic community, and the women of this campus to come out here and make their voices heard," said organizer Alexandra Stevenson. "We are not being shut down just because Trump is president, we are not going to stand by and watch him do the things he wants to do."

Starting at 9 a.m., protestors walked all over campus, holding signs that read "Love Trumps Hate!" Numbers fluctuated as people left for class and rejoined afterward but spirits stayed high throughout.
