MAY 19, 2005 -- A Wilmington Marine who served in Iraq is still waiting for a final decision on his case and now prosecutors are weighing in with their opinion.
Lt. Ilario Pantano is accused of murdering two Iraqi detainees.
After the military equivalent of a pre-trial hearing, an investigating officer recommended against a court-martial for Pantano.
Now the lead prosecutor is vouching for the evidence they presented which accused Pantano of premeditated murder.
A commanding general will make the final decision on whether Pantano should be court-martialed.
