Seahawk volleyball sweeps Elon

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Senior Alyssa Desjardins' double-double of 20 assists and 12 digs pushed her over the 1,000 career-dig plateau as UNCW swept visiting Elon 3-0 (25-16, 28-26, 25-19) on Monday at Hanover Hall.

The Seahawks, who ran their record in sweeps to 7-3, improve to 16-11 overall and 6-9 in the Colonial Athletic Association while the Phoenix dipped to 17-14 and 3-11.

Desjardins became just the third Seahawk to surpass the 2,500 assists and 1,000 digs mark, joining Sheldon Plentovich (1989-92) and Ginger Moon (1993-96). The double-double was the 12th double-double of her season and the 38th of her career.
