WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore guard C.J. Bryce led seven Seahawks in double figures with a game-high 19 points as UNCW reeled off its 29th consecutive exhibition victory with a 117-65 rout of NCAA Division II Mount Olive on Sunday at Trask Coliseum.

The Seahawks begin the regular season next Friday, Nov. 11, against Claflin at 7:30 p.m. The UNCW women's team opens the home doubleheader with a 4:30 p.m. contest vs. Norfolk State.
Bryce made 8-of-11 shots from the floor, including three-of-four attempts behind the arc, as the Seahawks shot 55.6 percent from the field. Redshirt sophomore guard JaQuel Richmond came off the bench to score 17 points and redshirt junior forward Marcus Bryan added 14 points with six rebounds.
Sophomore forward Devontae Cacok posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds for UNCW, while seniors Chris Flemmings and Chuck Ogbodo each contributed 12 points. Freshman Jaylen Fornes wrapped up the double digit scorers with 11 markers.
Armond Griebe and Dedric Boyd each tallied 15 points to lead Mount Olive and Cameron Robinson came off the bench to score 11 points.
UNCW, which improved to 47-5 all-time in exhibition games, set an exhibition record with its 117 points against the Trojans. The previous high was 108 points scored vs. the University of Ottawa on Nov. 2, 2007.
The 52-point margin of victory also set a new mark for exhibition contests, eclipsing the previous record of 50 points set twice.
Led by the Bryce, the Seahawks jumped on the Trojans quickly, connecting on four of their first five field goal attempts for an early 8-0 advantage. A triple by Fornes in front of the Mount Olive bench extended the margin to 27-8 as the Seahawks converted 10 of their first 13 shots.
The Seahawks took a 53-25 cushion into the break when Flemmings took an alley oop pass for a half-ending slam as time expired. UNCW shot 50 percent on 20-of-40 field goals and outrebounded the smaller visitors, 30-19, in the opening 20 minutes.
UNCW padded its lead after intermission and enjoyed its largest lead of the contest, 98-44, with 7:03 left on a Cacok layup.
