Murder investigation turns to accidental death

The strange case began with a fire around 5300 Market Street in March, near Circuit City. In April, police discovered a body inside the charred house.

The victim was Norris, a homeless man from Morehead City. The bullet in his chest led investigators to believe it was a homicide, but now they've discovered that bullet was from an accidental shooting fifteen years ago.

The autopsy shows Norris died from breathing smoke.

"What this means is that our total number of murders for the year in Wilmington is now three, not four. However, we express our sympathy to Norris' family." says Lt. Marshall Williamson.

Two of those three murders Williamson mentioned are connected. Stacey Wynn is suspected in both killings an he is still at large.
