UNCW Press Release

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore Ellinoora Moisio carded a five-over-par 77 to lead UNCW during the second round of The Landfall Tradition on Saturday afternoon at the Country Club of Landfall.
The Seahawks, who enter the final round in 17th place, posted a 317 team score. Led by three players in the top 10, Wake Forest moved into the team lead with a 572 team score, including a four-under-par 284 in the second round.
“It has been a tough two days,” UNCW Head Coach Cindy Ho said. “We have not executed well enough and we’ve hurt ourselves by making too many big numbers. Three players were playing well and made the turn at one-over-par before we reached the difficult par-3 second hole. We went six-over-par there, which killed a lot of our momentum.
“I want us to go out tomorrow and win the day, so we can finish well and end the fall on a positive note,” Ho added.
Moisio posted a five-over-par score for the second straight round to move into a share of 68th place while junior Lyberty Anderson followed with a 78 to finish the second round in a tie for 72nd place.
Freshman My Nguyen is tied for 75th place with a 157 score through two rounds after firing a seven-over-par 79 in the second round.
Junior Kayla Thompson is tied for 80th place while junior Alaina Yeatts follows in 93rd place.
Up Next for the Seahawks: UNCW plays its final round of the fall season on Sunday morning with the third round of the Landfall Tradition. The Seahawks will tee off at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start.
