Top-ranked teams from across the country headed to the Port City to play in the 15th annual Landfall Tradition.
UNCW women’s golf hosts the event on the Pete Dye Course at the Landfall Country Club.
A total of 18 teams, including No. 1-ranked Alabama, started practice on Thursday morning before the tournament kicks off Friday.
Cindy Ho, head coach of the UNCW women’s golf team, said she’s excited for her team to play the best of the best.
“We're playing 17 other ranked teams all at one time, so I think it's great for our team to get to measure ourselves being a mid-major school to play with all of the power conferences, power-five conferences,” Ho said. “What a great opportunity for our team to measure their abilities as well.”
Ho encouraged families and fans to come out and enjoy the golf-filled weekend. She said it’s a great way to introduce and build interest in the sport.
Part of the proceeds from the tournament will go toward scholarships for UNCW golf teams.
