First at Four: Opening up your home to a foster pet

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Every dog deserves a loving home.

But sometimes they need a temporary place to stay before going to their forever family.

Shelby Bovenizer with Paws Place Dog Rescue joined us today to tell us about fostering dogs.

She also brought Google with her, a nearly 2-year-old Basenji/Whippet mix, who needs a loving foster home.

This precious young lady was found with a small leg injury in downtown Wilmington in late June 2016. She has spent much time at the vet and is now living a happy life at Paws Place.

The vet has some suspicions that this is a congenital problem, but we are working with a specialist to find out more. She is potty/ crate trained, affectionate, playful and likes other dogs.

It would be wonderful if we could find her a loving, patient foster to care for her while she is being assessed by the specialist.

Paws Place Dog Rescue is a no-kill shelter which works to find loving homes for rescued dogs.
