BROOKLINE, Massachusetts – Northeastern used an eighth-minute goal from junior midfielder Gaku Lange to claim a 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association victory over UNCW at Parsons Field on Saturday evening. 

The Huskies, who improved to 6-9-0 overall and 3-4-0 in the CAA, earned their fourth win in the last five games. UNCW dropped to 7-4-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the CAA after losing its second straight game. 

Lange gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead with his first goal of the season after he put in a rebound of a shot from junior midfielder Daniel Arvidsson. 

Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Cretens made four saves for the Seahawks, who outshot Northeastern by a 16-13 margin. 

Junior goalkeeper Jonathan Thuresson tallied three saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season for Northeastern.  

#SeahawkStats: Northeastern ended a three-game losing streak in the series against UNCW … The Seahawks still hold a 6-5-3 edge in the all-time series … The Seahawks outshot their opponent for the 10th time in 13 games this season ... Sophomore David Lozano and freshman Phillip Goodrum each attempted four shots to lead the Seahawks.
