Sheriff's deputies, police officers and town workers to battle on basketball court

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) -

First responders in our area are coming together to help out the Special Olympics of North Carolina.

A basketball tournament will be held at the Carolina Beach Recreation Center at 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd. on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person, but kids under eight get in for free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site.

All proceeds go to the Special Olympics.

Here is a list of the organizations participating in the tournament:

  • Brunswick County Sheriff's Office
  • New Hanover County Sheriff's Office
  • Town of Carolina Beach
  • Wilmington Police Department
  • Wilmington Fire Department
