My turn: Help flood victims in North Carolina

We have partnered with the United Way of the Cape Fear for a special fund that will directly benefit those living in the particularly devastated communities.

Earlier this week, we encouraged everyone to find a way they could to help the victims of Hurricane Matthew in our region.

And you have certainly responded.

We have already heard and read about dozens of donation drop-offs in our communities. Several people are taking supplies to the hardest hit areas in Columbus, Bladen and Pender counties.

Now I’m happy to let you know that we have partnered with the United Way of the Cape Fear Area for a special fund that will directly benefit those living in the particularly devastated communities.

You can donate money to the United Way Hurricane Matthew fund just by texting UWHELPSNC to 41444 or visit https://www.uwcfa.org/product/donate/

The folks there ensure us that this money will stay in southeastern North Carolina as those communities work to recover from the effects of this hurricane.

That’s my turn. Now it’s your turn. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at yourturn@wect.com.
