WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

One-stop voting has expanded ahead of the General Elections in North Carolina. A ruling by a Federal Appeals Court Panel overturned sections of the state’s 2013 Voter Information Verification Act, more commonly known as the “Voter ID” law, restoring a week of early voting, allowing voter preregistration for 16- and 17-year-olds, and keeping same-day registration and out-of-precinct voting in place.

One-stop voting began Oct. 20, across the state, and ends on Saturday, Nov. 5. The hours, dates and locations for early voting differ with each county.

For more on early voting in our area, watch Carolina in the Morning starting at 5 a.m.
