MAY 10, 2005 -- Brunswick County Deputy Albert Hardison is in good condition after a car accident. The drunk driver who hit him is in serious condition.

The accident happened Monday night on Longwood Road near Shallotte.

Sheriff Ron Hewett says Roy Worley turned in front of Hardison and caused the near head-on collision. Debbie Lofton was in the pick-up truck with Worley. Her injuries are not life threatening.

Worley has been charged with causing the accident and DWI.  

The state highway patrol is still investigating this accident.
