WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

UNCW’s Department of Theatre will start the 2016-2017 season with the play Punk Rock by Simon Stephens.

The show revolves around a group of 17-year-old students as they prepare for their exams. With this unusual group comes many personalities, and as the tension grows, rivalries and aggression start to surface.

Punk Rock reflects the bullying that has increasingly come into the spotlight as social media expands.

The Department of Theatre has partnered with UNCW’s Collaboration for Assault Response and Education (CARE), the LGBTQ Resource Office and the Counseling Center to provide information on how to deal with violence.
