MAY 10, 2005 -- The polls are open in New Hanover County.
Voters are deciding whether to spend millions of dollars for school renovations.
Voting began at 6:30 Tuesday morning.
Registered voters in the county are deciding the fate of two bond issues. One would provide $27 million for Cape Fear Community College. The other would give $123 million to New Hanover County schools for renovations.
Supporters say the growing district needs new classroom space and more up-to-date buildings. However, opponents say taxes will go up.
