'Pooch Plunge' this week at Legion Stadium Pool

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

The Wilmington Family YMCA Pooch Plunge is happening this week in Wilmington. 

Dogs of all sizes, ages, and swimming ability are welcome to take a dip in the Legion Stadium Pool located at 2131 Carolina Beach Road. 

The pool will be available for the dogs for the next six days following the end of the regular pool season. 

The entrance fee is $5 per dog per day, pool times are:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Friday, Sept. 9 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Sunday, Sept. 11 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All dogs must be current on vaccinations, owners are responsible for the behavior of their dog, no aggressive dogs are allowed. Per strict regulations from the health department, owners are not allowed to be in the water with their pets.

YMCA Lifeguards and attendants will be on duty for this event.
