APRIL 30, 2005 -- Autopsy results for John Lewis Junior have been confirmed.

Lewis was killed in a stand-off in New Hanover County early Thursday morning. He was shot by officers after a domestic dispute with his wife.

The preliminary results suggest that Lewis bled to death five minutes after he was shot.

According to the autopsy, Lewis was killed by a bullet that hit his right shoulder and went into his armpit. Lewis was also shot in the left finger while another bullet grazed his chest.

Two investigations should provide more information as to what happened at the home early Thursday morning. They should be complete in the next couple weeks.
