Dispute Ends in Six Hour Stand-off

APRIL 30, 2005 -- A dispute in Wilmington turned into a stand-off, lasting about six hours.

The stand-off began around 9:00 Saturday morning at a house on Bonham Avenue.

Police say it started when the wife of the man, Saadeh Saadeh, called police concerned about his welfare.

We're told they had been involved in a domestic dispute on Friday night.

When police arrived, they say they found Saadeh behaving erratically and threatening to kill himself. That's when negotiatiors were called to the scene.

Saadeh was taken into custody Saturday afternoon and taken to the hospital for observation.
