APRIL 29, 2005 -- The memory of a little boy will live as the namesake of a Wilmington park. The boy was caught in the crossfire of a drug-related incident.

On Friday, the outdoor commons area on the 9th Street side of Jervay Place was dedicated to Demetrius Greene. The park is located near the point where Greene died.

Back in 1997, the 8-year-old was waiting in the car to take a trip to Toys-R-Us. But he was hit by a stray bullet.

The boy's parents say he would have enjoyed Friday's ceremony.

Shan Carter is currently on death row for killing Demetrius.
