Autopsy Results on Body Found in Columbus Co.

APRIL 29, 2005 -- News 6 has learned the results of a preliminary autopsy on the body of a teenage girl found in Columbus County.

The body of a black female was found in a wooded area on game land off Carver Moore Road. That's close to the Bladen County line.

Officials say the autopsy suggests the girl was hit by a car, but it didn't happen where the body was found. The body was later moved.

Authorities say they believe the body may be that of a 14-year-old girl reported missing from a camp ground area north of Whiteville.
