UNCW Women's Soccer earns draw vs. High Point in Exhibition


WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Senior goalkeepers Carolyn Huddy and Liisa Rahkola combined to anchor a strong defensive effort by UNCW as the Seahawks earned a scoreless draw against High Point in an exhibition game at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Thursday evening.

Led by Huddy and Rahkola, the Seahawks held the Panthers to just one shot in the contest, which came in the second half.

Junior Alex Hank, sophomore Emily Lyon and freshman Charlotte Kennedy combined to make four saves for the Panthers.

UNCW outshot High Point by a 12-1 margin and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Seahawks open their regular season schedule next Friday, Aug. 19, at Georgia Southern.
