Whether you’re a sports fan or not, most people agree they can find something interesting to watch or follow in the Olympic Games.
The tradition is back this summer and for the next several days we’re going to see some of the best athletes in the world compete. And it’s a nice break from all the political back and forth.
Already we have experienced some dramatic moments and we know there are more to come. But what I like most is the interest that crops up in some of the lesser known sports.
Many of us have heard of Michael Phelps, but I find it more fun to hear people in the hallways discuss the finer points of handball or badminton. You have an opportunity over the next several days to experience some different competitions not usually seen on television and I encourage you to check out what you can.
Of course NBC is all over the television coverage. You can watch that day and night. You can also keep up with the games on WECT.com and our mobile app.
Take some time to enjoy these games because you won’t get the chance to see some of these sports on the world stage for another four years.
That’s my turn. Now it’s your turn. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
