WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW College Republicans spent Monday finalizing details for Donald Trump's arrival taking place at Trask Coliseum on Tuesday.
"Practicing speeches, getting ready. We're gonna do a walk through today to just go over everything, make sure everything's right. Today is just straight preparation, making sure everything is good," said Kyle Lewis, president of the organization.
Supporters outside Trask Coliseum are already looking forward to Trump's speech.
"Attacking Hillary, number one, giving us some concrete policies that he plans on doing for us. Especially in this area we have a lot of seniors and it would be good if he addressed the senior population," said Eduarodo Melendez.
"I just want to see the man, hear him talk, and cheer for him," said Joseph Silva. "This town is growing and the fact that he's coming to Wilmington means a whole lot."
UNCW College Republicans worked on this event for weeks. Tomorrow, Lewis will formally endorse Trump's candidacy.
"I want to say this is the biggest political experience I've had since I joined College Republicans two years ago," Lewis said.
Speaking in a college environment, supporters hope Trump talks to students about how important they are to the race.
"It's very important that NC goes red this year, so hopefully we can make a difference for that," added Lewis.
