WILMINGTON, North Carolina – A challenging schedule of nine tournaments awaits the 2016-17 UNCW women's golf team when the squad returns to campus next month.
The schedule features a pair of home tournaments in addition to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship, which will be held for the sixth consecutive year in nearby Southport, N.C.
The Seahawks open the season by defending their title at the William & Mary Invitational on Sept. 11-12 at the Kingsmill Resort Golf Course. They continue the fall portion of the slate by traveling to the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational on Sept. 23-25.
After a visit to Chapel Hill for the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational on Oct. 14-16, UNCW finishes the fall portion of the season by hosting The Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall on Oct. 28-30.
The spring side of the schedule begins early with a trip to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF Challenge on Feb. 5-7, before traveling to Port St. Lucie, Fla., for the Michigan State Invitational two weeks later.
UNCW hosts its annual spring tournament on Mar. 9-10 with the River Landing Classic at the River Landing Country Club in Wallace, N.C., before returning to
Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Tiger Classic on Mar. 20-22 at The University Club.
The Seahawks close out their regular season schedule by making a return trip to the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on March 31-April 2 in Sunset, S.C.
St. James Plantation will serve as the host site for the 2016 CAA Championships, which will be held April 14-16 on the Reserve Course.
