WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Cape Fear Community College men's and women's soccer teams will call Legion Stadium home next season.
Legion Stadium is the 6,000-seat home of the Wilmington Hammerheads.
"We are excited to partner with the City of Wilmington," said CFCC Director of Athletics Ryan Mantlo. "They have been wonderful to work with and it's a terrific partnership. Playing at Legion Stadium will enhance the game day experience not only for the athletes but spectators as well."
The CFCC women's soccer team will play nine home games at the stadium, including the CFCC Port City Classic on Aug. 27-28.
"We are very happy to call Legion Stadium home," said Ryan Deppa, women's soccer head coach. "We not only want to represent CFCC, but also Wilmington, and this central location is a very positive move in that direction for our department. The surface, location, and set-up at Legion Stadium are all outstanding."
The men's team will play seven home games at Legion, including the season opener against Richard Bland College on Sept. 3.
