WILMINGTON (UNCW) -

UNCW Women's Volleyball, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association champion, has announced its schedule for the 2016 season and will host the CAA Championship tournament in mid-November.

From UNCW

UNCW will host the CAA tournament on Nov. 18-20. It will be third time UNCW has hosted the championship, but the first since 1996.

"After such a historic season in 2015, I'm thrilled that the team will be rewarded with hosting the CAA championships," said UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek. "Our non-conference schedule is filled with tough competition each weekend, which will help prepare our players for conference play.  Ohio, Duke, NC State and our trip to North Texas will all be challenging and will give our players the opportunity to play high RPI and out-of-region teams."

The UNCW Courtyard by Marriott Classic, the lone home tournament for the Seahawks, opens the season with Winthrop, Jacksonville and Davidson rounding out the three-day round robin tournament. It will also be the first of three in-season tournaments for the Seahawks.

UNCW will follow with tournaments at Appalachian State (Sept. 2-3) and North Texas (Sept. 9-10).

In Boone, N.C., the Seahawks open the ASU tournament with host Appalachian State and will also face off with Ohio, who earned an at-large bid to the 2015 NCAA Tournament, and Wofford. The following weekend, UNCW will take on Indiana State and Louisiana-Lafayette before closing out the tournament against host, North Texas.

Prior to opening conference play, UNCW will play longtime rival Campbell at home on Sept. 13, before visiting Duke (Sept. 17) and NC State (Sept. 18).

UNCW kicks off conference play on Sept. 23, hosting Northeastern. That weekend, the Seahawks also host Hofstra on Sept. 23 before kicking off a six-match road swing with Delaware on Sept. 29. Following that stretch, the Seahawks will play six of their last eight matches at home.

Season tickets will go on sale at midnight on July 1. Season ticket prices are $25 for adults and $15 for youth (15 and under). Individual match ticket prices are $7 for adults and $2 for youth. UNCW Student, Staff and Faculty tickets are available using their UNCW OneCard. Ticket prices for the Courtyard by Marriott Classic are also $7/$2. Individual match tickets go on sale Aug. 1. All tickets may be purchased online at UNCWsports.com/buytickets.
