CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) -

A family visiting Carolina Beach from West Virginia is overwhelmed with gratitude. Dozens have reached out, offering money, free meals, and their support after the Schlossnagle's diaper bag was stolen while they were playing mini golf at CB Golf and Games Monday.

While they are very grateful for the offers, the family said they would instead ask those who contacted them to pay it forward.

Inside the bag was a wallet with money their 7-year-old son saved, and memory cards — holding hundreds of priceless family photos.

"It made my stomach hurt, just knowing that what they probably wanted was the money and that those memory cards will probably just be thrown away somewhere, and it's hard to even think about," said Amber Schlossnagle.

Amber said the diaper bag, a Mossimo brand backpack with a zig-zag pattern, was leaned up against the center console and all the doors were locked, but the sunroof was open.

Liam Schlossnagle, 7, said he lost $160 he brought for this vacation which he saved from birthdays and chore money.

"I worked very hard to get all of that," he added.

The Schlossnagles have since given Liam $165 to buy souvenirs.

If there is anyone who may know where this diaper bag is or any of its contents, you can drop it off at the CB Golf and Games — no questions asked.
