Three Seahawks take home All-America honors

WILMINGTON, North Carolina - All-America honors continue to roll in for Nick Feight, Ryan Foster and Brian Mims after UNCW's second straight season of 41 wins and reaching a regional final in 2016.

The trio were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America teams with Mims earning first-team honors and Feight and Foster landing on the second team.

Mims, who was a first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association honoree at second base, hit .371 while slugging .614 and posting a .443 on-base average. His 14 home runs were tied for second most on the team and his 64 runs batted were second. In the field, he committed just five errors in 318 total chances for a .975 fielding percentage.

Feight, who has also earned first-team Louisville Slugger and third-team Baseball All-America honors, posted one of the greatest all-time seasons in the UNCW records book, tying the school records for home runs (21) and doubles (24) in a season while smashing the program's single-season RBI record with a nation-leading 91.

Foster fashioned a season for the Seahawk annals, setting the single-season wins record with 13. The righthander posted a 13-2 record and a 2.46 earned runs average and his 117 innings pitched were tied for fourth all-time at UNCW. During his four seasons with UNCW, Foster finished tied for seventh in wins with 23 and eighth in starts with 44.
