McMaster's opponent said Wednesday it's inconsistent for McMaster to now say there's no time for on-the-job training where the governorship is concerned.

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Volvo is showing off its first car to be made-in-America, even as the economic climate changes radically under President Donald Trump. Volvo Cars officially opened its South Carolina plant Wednesday with a glitzy ceremony that revealed the Swedish automaker's redesigned S60 hybrid-powered sedan, which will roll off the assembly line this fall.

(AP) - A judge dismissed a lawsuit against the FBI for a faulty background check that allowed Dylann Roof to buy the gun he used to kill nine people in a racist attack at a South Carolina church. But U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel also blasted what he called the federal government's "abysmally poor policy choices" in running the database for firearm background checks. Roof was sentenced to death in the 2015 shooting.

CHERAW, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been stabbed to death after a fight at an apartment complex in South Carolina. Cheraw Police said officers found Damien Johnson covered in blood near a vehicle at the Greystone apartment complex around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities say Johnson was arguing with Brandon Sellers when they started fighting. Police said in a statement that Sellers then pulled a knife and stabbed Johnson several times.
