COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) -

A Loris man was killed in a head-on collision in Columbus County around 8:45 Tuesday morning.

According to Trooper Capps with the State Highway Patrol, a 2001 Buick LaSabre driven by Randall Devon Smith, 31, crossed the center line on NC 410 near Roseland Road, and hit another vehicle head-on.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others involved in the wreck, the driver of the other vehicle and a passenger in Smith's vehicle, were both treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Capps said neither speed nor alcohol/drugs are believed to have been a factor in the wreck.

No charges are expected to be filed, but the crash is still under investigation.
