WILMINGTON (UNCW) -

Former NC State head coach Bob Guzzo trained young wrestlers today in a two hour clinic at UNCW, part of the Police Activity League initiative.

Guzzo coached NC State for 30 years and won 13 ACC Championships. He even coached four national champions, before retiring in 2004.

You know the sport's a great sport, it's great for the kids, some of these kids will go to college because of the sport," said Guzzo. "It's just a good activity for the kids to be involved with. It's fun giving some time back, I enjoy it, have a lot of fun with it."

Guzzo earned an NAIA Championship in 1966 at East Stroudsburg University.

"It's a lot of fun number one, and it's good to see the promotion of wrestling in the area here. The PAL has done a great job of trying to promote the sport, so it's a lot of fun for me and I hope the sport will grow here."
