WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore Nick Feight helped the Seahawks to a 4-0 record last week with another tremendous showing at the plate and was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player-of-the-Week for a third time.
He shared the honor with Elon's Nick Zammarelli.
Feight hit a team-high .538 with four home runs, scored eight runs and knocked in nine as he raised his nation-leading total to 68. He also drew five walks and posted an on base average of .667 while slugging 1.615 with 21 total bases.
The Gainesville, Virginia, product is ranked among the conference leaders in nine offensive categories and leads the conference in home runs with 15, total bases (118), Slugging percentage (.868) and RBI's.
Feight is third on UNCW's single season RBI record list and trails former standout Matt Poulk by five RBI's. He already owns UNCW's sophomore season record for RBI's and needs two more home runs to tie Josh Bonifay's home run record for sophomores with 17.
The Seahawks return to action Tuesday with a 6 p.m. start at North Carolina before hosting High Point on Wednesday at 6 p.m. to open an eight-game homestand.
