SOUTHPORT, North Carolina – Anchored by a pair of under-par rounds from Thomas Eldridge and Patrick Cover, UNCW moved into second place at the Colonial Athletic Association men's golf championships on Saturday at St. James Plantation.
Nationally-ranked College of Charleston owns a 16-stroke lead over the Seahawks entering the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Leading the CofC charge is William Rainey, who owns a two-stroke lead over UNCW's Thomas Eldridge for medalist honors. The Cougars boast four golfers in the top-10 through two rounds.
Joining Eldridge in the top three is Patrick Cover, who fashioned a five-under-par 67 on Saturday to move into a three-way tie for third with Ryan Cole of James Madison and Christopher Crawford of Drexel, all at one-under for the tournament.
The championships wrap up on Sunday with the Seahawks, Cougars and Drexel being paired up and teeing off at 8:54 a.m.
