SOUTHPORT, North Carolina – Senior Annette Lyche shot a 3-over par score of 75 in the second round as UNCW moved into second place at the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golf Championship at St. James Plantation on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who held the lead after the first round, are one stroke behind Delaware after carding a 315 team score. The Blue Hens, who were tied for fourth following the opening round, improved their score by 25 strokes to finish with a 298 team score on Saturday.
Lyche, who shot an 80 in the opening round, posted a pair of birdies in the front nine before shooting 1-over in the final nine holes to lead the Seahawks.
Senior Meghan Theiss enters the final round in sixth place after firing an 83 in the second round while freshman Ellinoora Moisio is ninth with a two-round score of 156.
Sophomore Alaina Yeatts holds a share of 13th place after posting an 81 score while sophomore Kayla Thompson is tied for 21st place.
