WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

The UNC Wilmington women's soccer team will host a "Be The Match" bone marrow registry drive during the Seahawks' seven vs.seven tournament on Saturday, April 16, at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The drive, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will help locate potential bone marrow donors for patients with blood cancers and other life-threatening diseases.

"Part of being a student-athlete at UNCW is giving back," UNCW head coach Paul Cairney said. "We can give back in so many ways through different times we interact with our local community. Being involved with 'Be The Match' is a win-win situation. We can raise awareness and add names and people to the national registry."
