Marissa Hundley is a two-time Emmy award winning journalist, who joined the WECT News team in January 2016. She currently anchors "Fox Wilmington News at 7."
Marissa made her journey down to Wilmington from Norfolk, VA where she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for the CBS affiliate, WTKR. During her three years in Hampton Roads, Marissa reported on several local stories that made national headlines, including the murder of Navy sailor MA2 Mark Mayo at Naval Station Norfolk in 2014, which resulted in sweeping security changes at U.S. military bases all over the world. Up until the day she left WTKR, Marissa extensively followed the death investigation of missing Norfolk teenager Anjelica "AJ" Hadsell.
This isn't Marissa's first time living in the Cape Fear Area, though. From 2010-2012 she reported for WWAY.
Marissa was born and raised in the Lone Star State and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2010 with a B.A. in Communication. During her time as a Fightin' Texas Aggie, Marissa spent four years in the pool, competing for the Texas A&M Women's Swimming team. She was a four-time All-American swimmer and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials.
