WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Emergency crews responded to reports of a car crashing into Port City Boxing at the intersection of 13th and Castle streets Friday evening.

"I had literally just walked off and then crash this car came out of nowhere," said Pauline Boudreaux, who was inside the building during the crash.

Officials say two vehicles were involved in a wreck near the building. After the wreck, one of the vehicles kept going and crashed into the structure.

"It all just came falling down and brick and everything just came flying in at us,” Boudreaux recalled as she remembered the chaos that quickly ensued.

Broken glass and cement covered the sidewalk. Police officers blocked off the roads, while firefighters quickly worked to stabilize the building and clean up the mess.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.

"It’s not really a normal situation for me, but sort of a normal situation because of the line of work I'm in," said Boudreaux explaining why she wasn’t frightened by the crash.

Boudreaux works as a stunt double and has dealt with car crashes at her job.

"I would’ve just jumped over, done some little stunt move, and I would've been all upset that no one had recorded it for my reel," Boudreaux laughed as she tried to make light of the situation.

Boudreaux said instead of running away from the crash, she ran toward the car to make sure the driver was okay.

She said she didn’t know a second car crashed until after she went outside.

“We never even realized there was another car involved because the one just came flying in there. It was crazy."

WPD officials said the driver of each car received citations. Kathryn Cloniger-Kirk was cited for failing to stop at a red light and Kya Davidson was cited for driving while her license was revoked.
