WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore catcher/designated hitter Nick Feight was named Colonial Athletic Association Player-of-the-Week after helping fuel a UNCW offense that outscored Iona, 41-12, in a three-game sweep of the Gaels over the weekend.
Feight drove in 10 runs on the week that also included a 6-4 setback to rival Coastal Carolina. He doubled and homered twice while hitting .529 (9-for17) and posting a slugging percentage of 1.000.
With those 10 RBI's Feight remained the CAA leader and he's now ranked second nationally.
Feight is in the midst of a career-long 13-game hitting streak and has knocked in runs in six consecutive games.
In the series finale against Iona, Feight drove in a career-high five runs with four coming across on a grand slam.
Feight becomes the third Seahawk to earn Player-of-the-Week honors, joining Steven Linkous and Brian Mims from the first two weeks of the season.
The Seahawks host nationally-ranked NC State at 6 p.m. on Mar. 22.
