The Azalea Festival’s first-ever helium balloon will appear in the parade, which takes place Saturday, April 9.
According to a festival news release, the balloon itself has a name - Abby Cadabby.
The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. and will follow the same route it followed last year.
Viewing areas will be along Third Street, from Market Street to Red Cross Street and is free to the public. Parking for the parade is available in all public decks downtown.
The Azalea Festival Street Fair will take place Friday, Apr. 8 through Sunday Apr. 10 along Water, Front and Market streets, featuring arts and crafts, vendors, two stages and children’s areas.
