N.C. State's Chance Shepard, a former Ashley High School standout, was named co-ACC Baseball Player of the Week on Monday.
Shepard shared the honor with Pitt’s Nick Yarnall.
Shepard, a senior designated hitter for the Wolfpack, homered in three consecutive games over the weekend against Wright State.
Last Friday, Shepard homered in the same game as his younger brother, Shane, marking the first time a pair of brothers has accomplished that feat for the Wolfpack since Brian and Robbie Bark on March 27, 1990.
In four games on the week, Chance Shepard knocked in eight runs and had eight hits, including two doubles and three home runs, while scoring five times.
