UNCW athletics held their 11th hall of fame induction ceremony on Saturday. College baseball coaching legend Rick Jones, track and field athlete Anna Raynor Marbry, Tressa Reese Mckeithan from women's basketball, and John Goldsberry, whose jersey hangs in the rafters at Trask Coliseum, were inducted.
For Goldsberry, it was a special moment to be recognized, especially with the current success the program is currently having.
“I’m obviously honored to be in a class with Coach Jones, Tressa, and Anna. This is a special place this was a special place for four years and it always will be.” Goldsberry said
He added that what stood out while being at UNCW is the people he met.
“I think more than anything it’s just the relationships, obviously basketball was a big part of a lot of what we did and why I here.”
UNCW has now inducted 48 athletes into their hall of fame since the inaugural event in 1998.
