SUPPLY, NC (WECT) -

Brunswick Community College will become a tobacco-free campus starting in the Fall of 2017.

The new policy will outlaw all forms of tobacco on campus, but will also include e-cigarettes and any other products resembling tobacco.

Currently, the college offers smoking gazebos in certain parts of the property. BCC has studied this possibility for several years, but in April 2015, the Faculty Senate voted on a resolution to make it a tobacco-free campus.

The proposal passed the Board of Trustees with a unanimous vote late last week.
