WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Big Dawg Productions' next theater offering is an evening of original one-act plays.

The entertainment starts with a couple plays from the Youth Play Festival last October. One weekend will feature Miss Mayberry written by Gracie Rose Blackburn. The other weekend will feature The Coffee House by Cecelia King.

After that, Big Dawg will present Laughter, Loss, and Light. The show consists of two one-hour plays by local writer John Grudzien.

The first hour is a mystery-comedy called The Curse of the Diamond. Several passengers on a train are bound together by a long-cursed diamond they're all searching for. Characters include a socialite, a runaway bride, a down-on-his-luck actor, and spinster and a postal worker.

The second play is The Care-Full Moving Company. In this drama, a character helps people move into new homes and cope with their memories and losses as they start a new chapter in their life.
